One of the most anticipated albums for me but it ended up heavily disappointing. Seems like most of the tracks here are lifeless and cheap imitations of his peak. I do enjoy Punk Rocky and Don’t Be Dumb but the album sounds like half baked ideas. It has cool musical moments but seems lifeless or forced. There isn’t anything memorable or high quality based out of the two songs that stood out.

Disappointing album for something that took a while to come out.

In my opinion, the best Drake album, every song flows into the next easily. He crafted his own sound on Take Care and elevated it on this. He also kept pushing his sound with songs like Worst Behavior, Wu-Tang Forever, and Control.

Feels like a long late night drive in the best way. He captured that sound perfectly

Drake at 99 overall, after dropping Take Care and NWTS, he solidified himself as a legend by dropping this after. The level of hunger and aggression he has in the first half followed by some of the best late night songs with Now and Forever and Jungle.

A classic album

R&B classic, well crafted songs and addictive tracks you keep coming back to. Go Gina is a favorite and so many iconic hits on here that piece together nicely with the deep album cuts

Currents is practically a perfect album but somehow this one is slightly better.

The way Kevin constantly evolves and still manages to surpass expectations with his albums is incredible. This guy is like an endless pit of creativity at the highest level. He does the drums, the vocals, the keys/synths, and the engineering. Arguably the most talented musician of the last 15 years.

Posthumous Forgiveness is one of those songs that hits incredibly hard since it’s dedicated to his late father. The second half of the song with the lyrics, the way he sings, and the aggressive drums is probably my favorite thing Kevin has ever done.

There’s something about this album that feels nostalgic but in the truest form of the word. The word stems from the Greek words, nostos (homecoming) and algia (pain). To me, this album sonically captures joyful times and has been the soundtrack for many sunny days. But songs like Posthumous Forgiveness reminds you of those moments that are fleeting away, in the midst of good times and success, you lose people you love that you can’t experience that time with. There’s a small gap of emptiness in the joy.

The album is filled with a lot of moments I really enjoy and it unfortunately dropped right as the pandemic blew up so it feels like it truly didn’t get to breathe and resonate like how Currents did, but what an all around performance again.

A perfect song - probably my favorite song with Bruno Mars. Anderson Paak really tapped into a different sound with this one. Soulful sound inspired by the Motown era but still sounds refreshing enough for the modern era.
