Dijon makes it a point to be different from the normal artists of 2021. His constant banter and heartfelt lyrics makes absolutely such a great track to play daily.

hate to be generic w the rating but honestly i have to give this a full 5. i feel like it was the last chapter to his debut look, sound, and overall “vibe” while also carefully introducing his new sound with “i can’t feel my face” - preparing us for what’s to come with his next album “starboy”. bc of that, i’d say this is prob the most pivotal album in his career/discography so far.

of course this project had its hits like “the hills”, “often” and “earned it” which is also also crazy to think about because it pushed him forth to a whole new demographic and i felt like really WAS the driving factor into his “stardom” / mainstream career but that being said, this album was a full vocal showcase, had textured sounds, and meaningful lyrics.

Y2K deep cut but with the 90s feel. This isn’t an album many are familiar with (and I hate that).

Love, betrayal, complication and chemistry. It’s chaotic lol but it’s an album that I think everyone should listen to at least one (or twice).

10 years later and it’s still one of the BEST modern day R&B albums to ever hit the streets.

She really pull you into the song and make you feel whatever she’s talking about (or however you’re comprehending it).

One of these albums you can listen to when you need a calm mind, late at night, during a drive, being in your feelings or need some self-discovery.

Unpopular opinion: I think she hasn’t released another album because she can’t top this one.

This album isn’t talked about enough! Love and commitment in the most mature way ! I would probably consider it a deep-cut fan album but with the 90s feel that everyone loves !

No-skips ! Highly underrated.

Firstly, WHY DOES THIS ALBUM HAVE NO RATINGS? Anyways, let me say it’s rare for an artist to wait this long to drop an album & it sounds THIS good.

It’s rich, poetic and beyond soulful. Talks about love, family, growth, Black womanhood and makes you feel things you may have never felt but didn’t know you needed to.

The smooth grooves sound like they’re from a different time but fresher today. A album that you can play with no skips and replay over and over !

Neo- Soul needed this !

R&B classic, well crafted songs and addictive tracks you keep coming back to. Go Gina is a favorite and so many iconic hits on here that piece together nicely with the deep album cuts

A perfect song - probably my favorite song with Bruno Mars. Anderson Paak really tapped into a different sound with this one. Soulful sound inspired by the Motown era but still sounds refreshing enough for the modern era.

i’ll admit, like many OG weeknd fans, it’s hard to move on from trilogy and to refrain from comparing all his work to that era but, hurry up tomorrow, is such a masterpiece in so many ways.

after years of the world perceiving him as “cleaned up” and on track, the weeknd makes sure the listener knows where he truly stands. with the dark lyrics of tracks like “opening night”, “given up on me”, and even one of my favorites “enjoy the show” you can’t help but be concerned. he touches on drug withdrawals and constant instances of nearing death but this transparency and vulnerability throughout the album is what makes it so good. can’t forget my favorite upbeat songs on the album as well like são paulo, open hearts, and timeless.

This album defines 90s R&B. It has everything you need from up-tempo new jack swing music (Baby Be Mine) to a classic love song (Before I Let You Go). This album can make you dance and cry all in the span of a few songs.

This song has such a smooth, sexy energy to it. The beat is light and danceable without being over the top, and the vocals have this effortless charm. This song convinced me to check out Thai artists.

Experimental, funky, and still influential.

What can be said about Prince that hasn’t been said? The thing with Prince on this album is he always seems to find the most unorthodox sounds and craft amazing melodies around them.

He is constantly pushing the boundary vocally and musically.

You walk away from the songs on this album wondering what you just heard and experienced but you keep coming back and back then it becomes an essential rotation.

The Weeknd is probably my favorite artist. I always come back to this album. Perfect for evening driving

Amazing album

I’m hooked on this song. The beat is so nostalgic and instantly pulled me in. It feels familiar in the best way, but still sounds fresh. Definitely one of those songs I keep replaying because the vibe is just that good.
